BRETT SLATER
I loved TV and radio as a kid. And as much as I enjoyed the shows and music, I also found that I was drawn to the “other” aspects of those media – specifically, the commercials and the DJ’s… Those messages and those voices did as much for shaping my mind and my cultural proclivities as any other influence at the time…
Fast forward to college, where I pursued a degree in advertising, and a career in radio, which took me “town to town, up and down the dial” through the 90’s and early 2000’s, playin’ all the hits, just for you.

In 2005, I founded Slater’s Garage Ads and Audio, as an audio production company specializing in voiceover and radio production. As the scope of marketing and advertising has grown in the 21st century, Slater’s Garage has grown as well, expanding our services to include video production, cartoons and animation, and social media consulting.
In 2008, Slater’s Garage began finding its way in the video space. With the advent of YouTube, social media, and “user-created content,” opportunities arose through a series of online video contests and “pro-sumer” content platforms. My videos were chosen locally as Grand Prize winners for the Maine Association of REALTORS “My Piece of Maine” contest, and nationally for the Honda Pilot DIY Contest. In the ensuing years, Slater’s Garage produced, local, national, and international spots for the San Diego Zoo, Olivieri Pasta, and others.
Most recently, our media work has brought us into the podcasting, consulting, and web design spaces, although you still may hear my voice on a radio ad in the Portland, Maine radio market, or catch one of the podcasts we produce.
I live in beautiful Wiscasset, Maine with my wife Kelly and our dogs Quincy and Louie.
